Phoenix NSCoder Night

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

I am proud to introduce NSCoder Night for Phoenix.

If you haven’t heard of NSCoder Night, here is a brief intro (partially borrowed from the website)

NSCoder Night is a weekly event where Cocoa developers come together for some coding and camaraderie in the relaxed atmosphere of a coffee shop or pub with a wireless network.
Unlike more formal meetings like CocoaHeads there is no presentation, just hanging out with other (similar interest) geeks and working on your own projects or group projects. It is a great way to gain a IRL (in real life) friendship with other developers, as well as getting help on something you are stuck on.

It is kind of similar to how we go somewhere after XCodePhoenix meetings, but with your laptops and more frequently.

As there is no presentation it is a low key come and leave as you need type of meet-up.
If you can’t make it one week, thats ok, make it the next week.

The Phoenix chapter of NSCoder Night will be meeting Tuesdays at 7pm at Coffee Rush @ Gilbert and Baseline in Gilbert.

Fell free to to tell all your dev friends and we hope to see you there.

Site Transfers in Progress

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

The server is up and this site is running on the new server!

iSteamy is in the progress of transferring over to the new server. (it’s currently transferring all the movies…)

I will keep you updated.

*UPDATE*

It is 2:30am here, and according to my calculations there 2,556 images left to transfer and then the audio.

As it looks like it will still be a while I am going to get some sleep and I will hopefully (if all goes well while asleep) make the final transfer of iSteamy to the new server in the morning.

Got the Server!

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

We got the new server!

I am setting it up as we speak.

Ringcast: iPhone Ringtone Podcast

Monday, March 24th, 2008

With the recent news that you can create a podcast of iPhone ringtones and iTunes will automatically sync them, I thought I would start one.

I am dubbing this method a Ringcast. (patent pending and trademark pending :-) )

So if you are interested in getting new free ringtones every now and then simply subscribe to my Ringcast using iTunes. When you download a new ringtone (aka: episode in podcast speak) it will show up in your iPhone Ringtone sync box, and sync according to your preferences.

Or if you prefer the manual method the url is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/CodeGenocideIPhoneRingtones

Dedicated Server Timeline Confirmed

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Just thought I would let everyone know that I recieved confirmation this morning that the dedicated server would be up and running in 24-48 hours.

As stated before I will still have to transfer all the data over, but it still means we are almost there!

Dedicated Server Ordered

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

As you can tell we don’t have the new dedicated server yet…

DreamHost was taking forever and just extended their ETA on me, so I decided to look elsewhere.

We have ordered a dedicated server from a new company and I was told it could take up to 24 hours.

Yes you read right, could take up to 24 hours!

That is way better then DreamHosts “sometime but we will keep pushing the date on you”.

So with any luck we will have our dedicated server VERY soon!

Please note that once we have the server we still have to transfer everything to the new server (which we probably would have had to do with DreamHost too).

So with any luck we will be 100% up and running again in a few days.

Thank you for bearing with us.
